Public transport or a private transfer? An honest comparison
A bus ticket costs less, we won't pretend otherwise. But it is charged per passenger, plus connections and the last stretch to your accommodation: in a group the gap with a transfer almost disappears.
Public transport around Brindisi works: urban and intercity buses, regional trains to Lecce and the local Salento lines. The ticket price is their strength. The limit is the shape of the journey: fixed timetables, at least one connection towards the coast, fewer services in the evening and off season, and the last kilometre to your hotel or B&B still on you, often by taxi.
A private transfer costs a few euro more per person and removes everything else: you leave when you want, luggage in the boot, and step out in front of your accommodation. Travelling as 4-8 people, the total divided per passenger lands close to the sum of the tickets.
Practical tip: always check the operators' official timetables (STP Brindisi, Ferrovie del Sud Est, Trenitalia) against your actual flight time before deciding.
