Why visit Nardò and Galatina together
Nardò and Galatina are just 25 minutes apart and about 40-50 minutes from Brindisi. This proximity makes them perfect for a combined half-day tour, avoiding the summer crowds of Lecce and Otranto while still enjoying the same baroque beauty.
Nardò captivates with Piazza Salandra, an open-air salon surrounded by noble palaces and the famous Immaculate Conception spire. Galatina, on the other hand, is famous for the Basilica of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, a treasure chest of 14th-century frescoes few tourists truly know.
What to see in Nardò in 2-3 hours
Nardò's historic centre is easily explored on foot. Starting from Piazza Salandra, admire the Immaculate Conception spire and the Church of San Domenico, a masterpiece of Lecce baroque. The Ducal Palace, now the town hall, is worth a visit for its frescoed interiors.
Not far from the centre, if time allows, a detour to the Porto Selvaggio Nature Reserve is worthwhile, with its cliffs and pine forests overlooking the sea. It's a perfect contrast between baroque stone and wild nature, all within the same municipality.
Galatina: the basilica and the tradition of 'pasticciotto'
In Galatina, the heart of the visit is the Basilica of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, with its extraordinary fresco cycle covering every wall. Few towns in Salento offer medieval painting of this quality, and it can almost always be visited without long queues.
After the cultural visit, stop at one of the historic pastry shops in the centre to try the pasticciotto, a typical pastry born right here in Galatina. The town's narrow streets, lined with pale stone houses, offer wonderful photo spots away from mass tourism.
Price and vehicles: €170 for a 6-hour tour
The combined Nardò-Galatina tour has a fixed cost of €170 per vehicle, up to 8 people, for 6 hours of service in total. The price includes VAT, a professional driver, fuel and all tolls. There are no hidden extra costs.
We have comfortable sedans for groups of up to 4 people and air-conditioned vans for up to 8 seats for large families or groups of friends. On request, we provide child seats of any age free of charge, simply let us know when booking.
How to plan the tour and book
We recommend starting in the morning to enjoy the best light on Piazza Salandra and have time for lunch at a typical Salento restaurant. The driver remains at your disposal throughout the stop, adapting the itinerary to your pace and favourite photo stops.
To book, simply send a WhatsApp message to +39 351 90 82 843 with the date, departure time and number of passengers. We confirm availability and the fixed price immediately, without requesting any deposit: payment is made directly to the driver on the day of the tour.
